Drunk, drugged and distracted driving are on the rise.\u00a0Just telling people to drive safely isn\u2019t enough. We need to do more. We can do more! Passengers need to play a more active role in their own safety and that of others.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">That is why <a href=\"https:\/\/wesavelives.org\/\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>We Save Lives <\/b><\/span><\/a>and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nrsf.org\/\"><span class=\"s2\"><b>National Road Safety Foundation<\/b><\/span><\/a> launched <b>The National Passenger Safety Campaign,\u00a0<\/b>bringing together 60 other organizations that believe that it&#8217;s time to focus on the passenger, and not just the driver. The goal is to promote safe driving practices and prevent unsafe ones by empowering passengers to SPEAK UP when their lives are in danger due to a reckless driver.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">In 2023, the\u00a0National\u00a0Highway Traffic\u00a0Safety\u00a0Association (NHTSA) added the campaign to their\u00a0national\u00a0calendar.\u00a0<b>National\u00a0Passenger\u00a0Safety\u00a0Week<\/b>\u00a0is now an ongoing event, the last\u00a0week\u00a0in January of every year.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">Passengers\u00a0can make a difference.<\/p><p class=\"p1\"><b style=\"font-style: inherit; color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; text-transform: var( --e-global-typography-text-text-transform );\">One courageous voice can change one
